Meet the Stars of Tomorrow! You are a true basketball fan? You haven't been in Novisad in summer 2007? - Big mistake! For those who love the sport in its purest form with young players who can do everything on the court - except listening to their coaches - this is the place to be: phenomenal athleticism, outstanding talent, natural play and enthusiasm for the game from the deep of the heart. You can see and meet the superstars of tomorrow before they sign multi-million dollar contracts and get squeezed in coaches' plays and public demand.
Big stars like Vlade Divac, Arvydas Sabonis, Vince Carter, Toni Kukoc, Wang Zhi Zhi, Andrei Kirilenko and Pau Gasol started their career at this championship.
3 players of the All Tournament Team of the 2003 edition do all play in the NBA by now: Andrew Bogut (AUS), Linas Kleiza (LTU), Jose Barea (PUR). The two others have a successful career with their senior national teams: Sofokles Schortsianidis (GRE) and Roko Ukic (CRO)
The potential of this event made FIBA decide to move from a four-year cycle to staging the event every two years as of 2007. This will ensure that every generation of global basketball talent will have the chance to compete at the highest international level.
